While several large school districts cover students within Vancouver, the area also boasts a number of private schools for parents to choose from.  With schools ranging from faith-based institutions to those with gifted programs, there are plenty of choices for incoming students living in Vancouver.

With high academic standards, as well as an emphasis on extracurricular activities like sports and fine arts, Bodwell High School is both a day school and boarding school in North Vancouver.  The school includes around 500 students enrolled in grades 8-12, with small class sizes.

For a liberal arts education, Island Pacific School in the West Vancouver-Bowen Island region enrolls students within grades 6-9.  There are only about 65 students who attend this school, with average class sizes including just 12-18 students.

For younger students, Westside Montessori Academy offers a Montessori-style education for kids in preschool through seventh grade.  This school includes about 100 students.  In addition, Cousteau is the French International School of Vancouver.  Located in North Vancouver, the school enrolls less than 200 students, with instruction in French for grades preschool through ninth grade.

Although there are numerous choices, one additional option is Arrow Academy.  Located in North Vancouver, this day school and boarding school ranges from grades 3-12, offering a gifted education for students in the Vancouver area.
