Not to be confused with its larger neighbor, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam is a relatively small community that sits 27 miles east of Vancouver and at the junction of the Fraser River and the Pitt River. Highway 7 and a major Canadian Pacific Railway yard almost divide the Port Coquitlam community in half, with two underpass crossings and only one overpass crossing connecting the two sections. Unlike other Vancouver suburbs, condos are what's most common on the Port Coquitlam real estate market.
